VVA310 is part of the Vietnam Veterans of America, which is a congressionally chartered organization dedicated to Vietnam-era
veterans and their families. The VVA is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit corporation under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal
Revenue Service Code.
Our motto and founding principle is the following: “Never again shall a Veteran coming home from battle be made to feel alone and unappreciated!”
The VVA310 Chapter promotes and supports any issue that is important to Vietnam veterans, especially in Washtenaw
County. We raise community awareness of Vietnam veterans and their activities on county, state, and national levels.
We
help veterans coming home wounded or disabled to get the medical care they need. We assist veterans from the Gulf War, Afghan
War, Iraqi War, and other parts of the world. We help them with benefits counseling and essential services to help them rebuild
their lives. We keep a watchful eye to ensure that the VA healthcare and benefits do not fall victim to budget cuts. We
ship packages to our troops who are in harms way to defend our peace and freedom. Those packages, letters, and postcards represent
more than gifts: They tell our troops that we care and are thinking of them.

We constantly receive letters of appreciation from our troops. Here are a couple of examples:
1. Dear Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 310: I would
like to say thanks for the packages you have sent to us. We all appreciate them. Things like that help us through the deployment
and rough times. It boosts our morale when people that we don't know are thinking of us. All of us thank you. A few more
months left, and we'll be home. Thanks again, and God bless you all.
2. First, thanks for the packages you
have sent. The men in B Company 1-5 Cav appreciate it and say, “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.” Second,
your thoughts provided us with a boost of morale, which was badly needed. Not only that, we have the Washtenaw County Vietnam
Veterans thinking about us and have us in their prayers. We can only be blessed. We salute you for that.
